Meanwhile, in the Asian-esque PVE land, the continent of Cantha is home to dozens of cities, towns, outposts, and mission areas and it's possibly even more explorable than Tyria, guild wars gold the land of original GW. It's also more scenic. The graphics engine hasn't changed, but it's still the best one in MMO land, and Cantha is lovingly constructed of breathtaking, hilly landscapes and terrific overlooks and views. Over 100 new monsters populate Cantha; although a few are derived from beasts found in Tyria (for instance, the snakelike Naga in Factions look and sound an awful lot like the Forgotten in GW), most are strongly original.
Not to give the plot away, but rest assured that it's full of as many twists and turns as the GW PVE story, and also features more persistent NPC characters that you actually feel you get to know as you play through. All of the other elements from GW are in place, right down to the goofy little dances and other animations that the characters can do when the user gets bored (the assassin does the robot). Collectors wait patiently for you to come to them with so many Kappa hides or jawbones and swap for new armor or weaponry. You can add runes to your armor in order to build up your character's attributes, health, or spell/skill energy. The heavily competitive economy is thriving, with people selling runes, scrolls, and weapons of various rarity levels (from white, the most common, through blue, purple, gold, and finally green, which are very rare). Guild Wars Gold is a kind of special game gold.
The only complaint that could be lodged against the Factions experience is the mazelike layout of many of the explorable areas. It's easy to get lost and have to backtrack ridiculous distances. For instance, when you discover that what looked like it might have been a pass between two mountains in the snow is actually a dead end, guild wars gold you'll retrace your steps for minutes at a time. It happens a bit too often.
Whether you want to gather with a few friends or start a massive guild, whether you'd care to play through the adventure or take on the world, Guild Wars Gold Factions has something for you -- and, unlike many games, it doesn't spread itself thin by trying to do too much. Each module of Factions was obviously overseen by the staunchest of perfectionists, because they work amazingly well. Factions are a must-buy for Guild Wars Gold fans and a must-try for everyone else. |
