In a sign of the times, EA Sports and the National Football League have teamed up to create a week-long series of virtual match-ups that will include celebrities, football legends and current players, leading up to the main event — a game of Madden between the league’s best players. The exact date of the game is still being determined.

The NFL announced today that the 2021 Pro Bowl will go virtual, being decided on the digital turf of Madden NFL 21. For a normal Pro Bowl, fans get to vote for their favorite players, and this year will be no different. Besides the Pro Bowl itself, the NFL will be holding a number of events to coincide with the virtual Pro Bowl, including in-game content for those that own Madden NFL 21. Voting for favorite players will run until December 17th, with the Pro Bowl event(s) scheduled for the end of January or early February.

Fans have the opportunity to vote for the Pro Bowl presented by Verizon roster as often as they'd like starting today until Thursday, Dec.17 across a variety of platforms, including:

Fans can vote directly on Twitter by tweeting the first and last name of the player, tagging the player's official Twitter handle or creating a hashtag including the player's first and last name. All three of these methods must include the hashtag: #ProBowlVote.

As for the voting, one-third of the vote used to determine this year's Pro Bowlers will come from the fans, one-third from players and one-third from the league's coaches.
