The player will be able to create towers by simply clicking on the tower to build from the panel and then placing it on the map, provided they have sufficient resources to do so. wow gold When a tower is being built or is selected, the player will be able to see a visual indicator of the range the tower will be able to affect so they can make strategic placement decisions.
As mentioned above, by selecting an already-built tower the player will be able to see its range, but they will also have the options of destroying towers and recouping some of their initial investment or upgrading the tower up to a certain limit. Buying cheaper WoW Gold is not an easy job.
The art for the game will likely be extremely simplistic and perhaps iconographic, mostly because I am not an artist and (at this point) I'm doing all of this solo. I believe, however, that an entertaining experience is still possible with limited imagery, so I do not see this as being a huge detriment at the moment.
The game is being developed as an addon to be played inside of the World of Warcraft game for the PC/Mac environments. A computer with the capability to run World of Warcraft and an active subscription are all that is required.
As I said before, this outline is a very rough draft at this point, and will probably change throughout the process.
A lot of the work for a game is done in code, so now that we are approaching that phase it will undoubtedly be easier to follow most of the topics if you have prior experience with programming languages (not necessarily Lua/XML). wow gold As I would like for this to be readable by anyone and everyone interested in game development, however, I will try to keep my rambling at a higher level.
For those of you who are interested in learning what is required to create WoW addons, there are a number of great resources on the web. Lua is the scripting language that is primarily used for the bulk of most addons, and is fairly easy to learn if you have prior programming experience (I come from a heavy C/C++ background), though even if you don't have much programming experience but are intrigued by it, it's probably a good start. Some good sites to visit are Lua.org for the official language reference, and wowwiki and wow programming for WoW API references and some helpful Lua tricks. The intricacies of how XML works aren't really needed, so a general understanding of it will probably suffice. W3schools is a good starting point, not only for XML but for many web-oriented languages as well. |
