Right. A while back some IGN Vault cohorts were chatting about Anime-style graphics. During the discussion I suddenly remembered how much I hate anime. The more I thought about it, the faster I filled with hate. With all the hating came increased anger at the realization that not only is anime out there, but they are sticking it in my games now! And not the good sticking it in like "oh noes you got your chocolate in my peanutbutter", but the bad sticking it in like Richard Gere walking out of a pet store with a cage full of gerbils. Needless to say, all this rage and thinking made my head hurt. That is the first of many things that can be blamed on anime.
The first two comments don't rate a response, eq2 plat but as for the third I have some questions of my own:

What is a mother of three kids doing sitting around surfing up cartoon pornography? Shouldn't you be busy breeding up some more spawn? I hope to hell your husband puts you in your place when you talk back to HIM like that.

Second, some will say that anime is an art form. Alright, I'll give you that one. Assuming that your taste in art is limited to the work of talentless hacks sitting around wacking the weenie while sketching out images of girls with massive boobage. Congrats, you can colour inside the lines now! Who's the big boy? Come on, who's the big boy?! Pinchy cheeks!

Those big innocent eyes, ginormous h(.)(.)ters and school uniforms so short they'd be illegal in most places. I tell you this much, if my kid tried to walk out of the house with skirt hiked up around the neck, and boobs hanging out of a Z28 bra, I'd lock them in the basement until they were 30. But it's just cartoon, right, so that makes it okay.

I've been fighting the good fight for about 10 years now, and so far I've yet to have anyone share my opinion on anime. But then I discovered 'teh internetz'! It appears that I may not be alone afterall. In fact, it turns out there are even special terms for these sick individuals. However, I'm not going to get into lolicons and things of that nature. I also won't bore you with a zillion quotes in an attempt to validate the fact that you are warped. eq2 plat Deep down you already know it.

So back to anime in games. Piss off already. For the love of cupcakes, keep that stink out of my games! That goes for you as well SOE, you and your ridiculous SOGA models in EverQuest II. I never once enabled SOGA, but thanks a ton for trying to turn the game into a big perv-fest. A lot of free-to-play MMOs have gone with anime style graphics. Of course, many of the developers are based in Asia. So I ask you, is it just cheaper to design the characters to look like cartoon porn stars or do people actually like it?
