To compose the musical side of Eorzea, Uematsu was tapped for his extensive work in the Final FantasyXI series. Tanaka was a little nervous that Uematsu's busy schedule would not allow for him to bless the world of Final Fantasy XIV with his compositions, but luckily he was happy to oblige.
