Guild Wars Gold-Guild Wars Nightfall Descends in October |
|
ArenaNet and NCSoft announced that Guild Wars: Nightfall, the third Guild Wars title, will release on Oct. 27 later this year. The collector's edition of the game is chalked full of goodies, guild wars gold including a soundtrack, a map of Elona, a collector's artbook and a making-of DVD. Take that, crummy Collector's Editions in Guild Wars. Nightfall is made by the Prophecies team not the Factions team, and a lot of people like me who enjoyed the more PvE oriented Prophecies are pleased about that. It's likely they also learned from the starter problems both campaigns had: Prophecies was too slow, Factions was too fast. Some of the quests were short but hard, others were long and easy, others were just boring or made no sense, so this created a lot of irregular pacing in the game, for example in the desert area. i think they looked long at this and learned from some design decisions they made and nightfall will be much better than both prophecies and factions due to that. Buying cheaper Guild Wars is not an easy job. Guild Wars is fun, however I found Factions to do a poor job of attracting new players that previously had little or not interest in the series. Nightfall doesn't look to do that either. Prophecies was a changed up, something different, but Factions didn't seem to offer enough. I'm begining to think the model Arena.net is using had begun to saturate the quality of their product a bit in Guild Wars. This collectors editions sounds pretty kick ass. I hate the fact that I know I will buy it as long as it is under $100, guild wars gold but most collector sets are at $60. This one has so much more than others thats why I'm worried about the price. Plus the game better be good with all sorts of new stuff besides a map. |
